ORONO – Mary Ann (Martin) Lambing, 81, wife of the late Edward Ray Lambing, died Oct. 28, 2005, at the Bangor Veterans’ Home. She was born March 8, 1924, in Orono, the daughter of George and Mary (King) Martin. She was retired from the Fogler Library at the University of Maine, where she had worked for many years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Orono her entire life. Mary’s favorite pastimes included walking and singing with the Sunshine Girls. She was well known and loved by many in the Orono area and will be sadly missed by all. She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Wilkinson of Apache Junction, Ariz. and Susan Lambing of Germany; one brother, Peter Martin of Old Town; one sister, Edna Huntley of Lagrange; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents she was predeceased by brothers, Charles, Francis, Everett, William; and sister, Louise Sidelinker. Friends are welcome to call 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Brookings-Smith, Labeau Chapel, 72 Main St., Orono. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday Nov. 2, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 89 Main St., Orono, with the Rev. Joseph Koury, celebrant. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Riverside Cemetery, Orono. Gifts in her memory may be sent to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 89 Main St., Orono, ME 04473.
