MARS HILL – Margaret Sylvester, 69, died Friday, Oct. 21, 2005, at a Mars Hill healthcare facility. She was born Oct. 5, 1936, in Bath, N.B. Canada the daughter of Turney and Ida (Golder) Broad. She worked at the Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill for 26 years as a CNA. Margaret was an amazing cook who enjoyed giving what she had made away to others. Margaret also attended the East Ridge Union Church in Mars Hill. She is survived by her husband, Galen Sylvester, of Mars Hill; a son, Galen Scott Sylvester and his wife, Lynn, of West Chazy, N.Y.; two daughters, Deanna Lunney and her husband, Mark, of Atwater, Ohio and Shelly DeWitt and her husband, David, of Parker, Colo.; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a brother, Ashby Broad of New Brunswick, Canada; six sisters, Vida Hardgrove of Blaine, Muriel VanDemere of Oregon, Rayma Ryan of Nova Scotia, Canada, Bernice Blackie of New Brunswick, Canada, Pearl Borassa of Montreal, Canada and Marina Tyson of Canada, also several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Perley Broad. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday at the East Ridge Union Church with the Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of service. Interment will take place following the service at King’s Grove Cemetery, Mars Hill. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make donations in her memory to the Logan P. Graves Foundation, P.O.
