HOPE – Margaret Wright, 84, passed away peacefully Friday, Oct. 21, 2005, at Maine Medical Center, Portland, surrounded by her loving family. Born Aug. 5, 1921, in Camden, she was the daughter of Charles and Agnes (Hunter) Kitching. She married Robert C. Wright Sr. Dec. 24, 1941, and lived on the Barnestown Road in Hope all of their married life. She was a 1939 graduate of Camden High school. In earlier years, she was involved with the 4-H club and was a den mother for the cub scouts. She and her late husband raised poultry and she sold eggs from the farm known as Maggie’s Egg Shack. They were known for their blueberries and worked together in the fields. She was also at one time an apple packer at Hope Orchards. Margaret was one of the founding members of Hope’s R.F.D. club; she was a member of the Hope Extension and the Hope Historical Society. She was well-known for her cooking and for knitting sweaters for all her family. She enjoyed going out for coffee in the mornings with her special friends. Surviving are her four children, Robert C. Wright Jr. and fiance, Sharon, of Hope, Ronald M. Wright and his wife, Dottie, of Wells, Dennis I. Wright and his wife, Sandy, of Hope; one daughter, Terry Mitchell and her husband, Clair, of Appleton; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren (two on the way); and a niece, Pauline Ralph. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, who died Oct. 7, 2003; a brother, Carl Kitching; and a sister, Bernice Libby. Visiting hours will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 27, at the Laite Funeral Home, 9 Mountain St., Camden. A Memorial Service will be held 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 28, at the Hope Community Bible Church with Pastor Mark Stockwell officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
