CAMDEN – Marian Knight (Dickey) Higgins, 84, died Nov. 13, 2005, at Pine Point Health & Rehab facility in Scarborough. She was born Sept. 27, 1921, in Lincolnville, the daughter of Fred and Gladys (Young) Dickey. She was a 1939 graduate of Camden High School and had been a lifelong resident of the Camden/Lincolnville area. Marian was predeceased by her husband, Oscar; and by her son, Robert; her brother, Norman Dickey; and her two sisters, Martha LaCroix and Rachel Fuller. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Simonton, of Gordonsville, Va.; and Marian Guire and her husband, Jeff, of Princeton; a special daughter-in-law, Patricia Higgins who has given unselfishly her love and time for Mom. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Heather (Guire) Hale and Dana, Carolyn (Simonton) Barfield and Ashton, Tianna Higgins, Cathy (Guire) Hertz and Colin, Jeffrey Guire and Erin, and Michael Simonton and Candie; seven great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Bertha Dickey; cousin George Dickey and several nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov 17, at the United Methodist Church, John Street, Camden.
