LUDLOW – Daniel Asa Henderson, 59, went home to be with Jesus, Nov. 10, 2005, peacefully in his sleep at his home in Ludlow. He was born May 10, 1946, at Houlton, the son of Walter and Lois (Brewer) Henderson. Daniel graduated from Houlton High School, Class of 1964. During his younger years he was a patrolman for the Houlton police department and worked for Hogan Tire Company and Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. He then joined the Army serving his country for 20 years until he was medically discharged in 1995. He was described as a loner and spent most of his time on his farm in Ludlow with his most treasured pal, Bear, his Newfoundland dog, who passed away only two weeks ago. He also treasured his big family of cats and spent hours with them. He was known as “Papa” to all his very loved grandchildren and step-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Connie (Russell) Henderson of Ludlow; his children, Joseph Henderson and his wife, Amber, of Presque Isle, Julie Ann Yarberry and her husband, Richard, of North Little Rock, Ark., Holly Sue Henderson and her companion, Tony Moore, of Houlton; step-children, Ryan Russell and his companion, Diana Pederson, of Biddeford, Kimberly (Ivey) Pratt of Saco, Corinna (Ivey) Miller of Biddeford, Jolene (Ivey) Pike and her husband, Daniel, of South Portland; grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Patrick, Jacob, Emily Beth and Katie Mae Yarberry, Elizabeth Henderson, Emily Marie Pratt, Eli Russell, Matthew and Nikolas Pike, Jacob Miller and Christopher Andrews; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; his grandparents, Walter and Isabelle Brewer; and his father-in-law, Donald Russell. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday, at the Dunn Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Tuttle officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
