CLIFTON – Marianne Wiles, 71, wife of the late Robert A. “Bob” Wiles, died unexpectedly May 22, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Aug. 28, 1935, in Bangor, the daughter of Allen and Marion (McKenna) Ellis. Marianne worked for many years in the Bangor area in health care. She resided on Chemo Pond, where she enjoyed all of her natural surroundings. She loved her pet cats and she loved to watch and feed the birds and squirrels. Marianne was a gifted and talented artist, painting many nature scenes, especially ones with loons that lived at the pond. Surviving are her daughters, Brenda Manzo of Orono and Ellen Lenfest and her husband, Jeffrey, of Clearwater, Fla.; three grandchildren, Adam and Lindsay Lenfest, both of Florida, and Ryan Lenfest of Bangor; one sister, Katherine Styes and her husband, Jack, of Michigan; a brother-in-law, Arthur Wiles and his wife, Glenda, of Louisiana; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Giffard and her husband, Dick, of Brewer and Lorraine Wiles of Louisiana; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Marianne was predeceased by a grandson, Stephan F. Manzo; and a son-in-law, Stephan A. Manzo. She will be remembered by a lifelong special friend, Jackie Pinkham of Clifton. Marianne’s wish was that there be no service. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
