WESTFIELD and EAGLE LAKE – Marie Exilia (Soucy) Smart, 81, died Jan. 20, 2007, at a Westfield health care facility. She was born Feb. 14, 1925, the daughter of Joseph and Celina (Albert) Soucy. She was predeceased by her husband, Camille Smart in 1991. She is survived by one son, James Smart of Vernon, Conn.; three daughters, Joyce Jandreau of Eagle Lake, Judy Raymond of Mapleton and Jean Duggan of Gloucester, Va.; one sister, Florida Lozier of Millinocket; four brothers, Richard Soucy of West Melbourne, Fla., Norman Soucy of Satellite Beach, Fla., Gordon Soucy of Newington, Conn., and Gerald Soucy of Green River, New Brunswick; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; and two very special people in her life, Carla and Darrell Carney of Mapleton. She was predeceased by two sisters, Emelda Mosher and Lenora Freeman; three brothers, Ted Soucy, Camille Soucy and Harold Soucy. At her request, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Eagle Lake. A committal service will be held after at the parish cemetery. At the request of the family, in grateful thanks for the wonderful care our mom received while living there, those who wish may donate in her memory to the Residents Activity Fund, Southern Acres Residential Care Facility, care of Rose Allen, P.O. Box 95, Westfield, ME 04787. Envelopes will be available at the church. Arrangements are being handled by the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, 14 East Main St., Fort Kent.
