BANGOR – Marie F. Jenkins, 82, wife of the late Harvey L. Jenkins, died Feb. 17, 2008, at her Bangor home. She was born Oct. 5, 1925, in Bangor, the daughter of Llewellyn and Margaret (Barstow) Dowling. Marie was a very active senior citizen, who enjoyed bowling and was an avid card player. She was a volunteer for Meals for Me and a member of Veazie Senior Citizens and Ham-mond Street Senior Center. She is survived by three sons, Harvey Jenkins Jr. and his companion, Betty Lovely, of Homosassas, Fla., David Jenkins and his wife, Serena, of Corinth and Alan Jenkins of Glenburn; six grandchildren, Lisa, Todd, Carrie, Shelley, Kimberly and Mark; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, three brothers and one sister. Friends may call 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor, with the Very Rev. Richard McLaughlin, pastor, celebrant. Interment will be after at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, immediately after the interment.
