TRENTON – Marilla W. Lund, 70, died Dec. 12, 2004, at an Ellsworth healthcare facility. She was born Oct. 28, 1934, in Providence, R.I., the daughter of Prescott and Marilla (Bogle) Whitman. Marilla was a graduate of Classical High School and Brown University, both of Providence. She and her husband, Harold, moved to Trenton, following Harold’s retirement in 1989. Marilla was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church of Ellsworth. She was an active volunteer in many local activities, including Hospice of Hancock County and the Bar Harbor Music Festival. Marilla is survived by her stepdaughter, Joyce “Jody” Strout of Milbridge; stepson, Clifford Lund of Willimantic, Conn.; stepgrandchildren, Christopher and Andrew Lund; and cousins, Irving and Jane Haynes, Robert and Betsy Bogle, Joanne Bogle Gerlach, and Barbara A. Bogle. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold in 1999; and her brother, Kenneth Whitman. Marilla’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and patients at Collier’s Rehab and Nursing Center for their extraordinary kindness and personal attention. Memorial Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Route 1, Ellsworth. Gifts in Marilla’s memory may be made to Hospice of Hancock County, 14 McKenzie Avenue, Ellsworth, ME 04605. Arrangements are under the care of Jordan-Fernald Funeral Home, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth.
