MILLINOCKET and BANGOR Marion D. Brackett, 78, wife of the late Wallace F. Brackett, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 29, 2007, at a Bangor hospital after a short illness. She was born June 15, 1928, in Stacyville, the daughter of Marvin and Georgie (McGrath) Allen. Marion was a graduate of Sherman High School, Class of 1945. She worked for J.J. Newberry, Woolco and Woolworth department stores in Millinocket, for many years. Marion was a member and past president of VFW Auxiliary Post No. 4154, Millinocket, for 39 years and was a member and past president of VFW Post No. 2299, Sherman. She was also a longtime member of American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 80, Millinocket. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Pelletier and her husband, Levi, of Glenburn; two grandchildren, Kimberly Leino and fianc?, Terry Kenniston, of Hampden and Todd Falone of Hudson; seven great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Kayla, Alyson, Samantha, Caralyn, Shawn and Jody; two sisters, Norma Tedford of Medway and Mildred Carter of Sherman; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Marion was predeceased by two brothers, Lester and Floyd Allen; and three sisters, Hazel Langley, Leola Hayes and Hepsy Adams. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Bouchard-Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 2, at the First Congregational Church, Millinocket, with the Rev. Carolyn Bradley, pastor, officiating.
