WOODLAND – Mary Ann Makepeace, 68, died March 30, 2007, at her Woodland residence, after a courageous battle against cancer. She was born March 3, 1939, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Herbert and Hazel (Johnson) Green. Mary Ann was a certified nurses’ aide and was employed at the Caribou Nursing Home, for several years. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joelene and Randy Reitmeyer of Caribou; one son, Rickey Makepeace of Woodland; four sisters, Betty Morest of Allenstown, N.H., Alice Morgan of Dayton, Tenn., Nancy Record of Palmetto, Fla., and Carolyn McCullum of Kansas; three brothers, Herbert Green of Raleigh, N.C., Albert Green of Tilton, N.H., and Russell Green of Caribou; six grandchildren, Jason Reitmeyer and his wife, Jessica, Jamey Reitmeyer, Tyler, Brandi, Kevin and Aleisha Makepeace; special family friends, Amy, B.J., Marlene and Lou, many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Makepeace was predeceased by a son, Reg-inald “Buzzy” Makepeace Jr. in 1987; four brothers, William “Billy” Green, Robert “Ducky” Green, Forrest “Sonny” Green and Richard Green; a half sister, Mavis Skidgel; and two half brothers, Wendell “Bill” Doody and Gerald Doody. Friends may call noon-2 p.m. Sunday, April 1, at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, where services will be held 2 p.m. with the Rev. George McLaughlin officiating. Interment will be at Woodland Cemetery. Friends who wish to contribute in Mary Ann’s memory may do so through Hospice of Aroostook or the American Lung Association.
