STONINGTON – Marion G. Newbert, 86, died Thursday, June 8, 2006, at the Island Nursing Home in Deer Isle. He was born March 26, 1920, in Oceanville, the daughter of the late Milton and Haddie (Adams) McGaddis. Mrs. Newbert was a loving mother and grandmother. She was an active supporter of her grandchildren in their lives. She enjoyed playing cards including cribbage. She married Adelbert Newbert who died in 1992. Family members include three grandchildren, Joey Newbert and his wife, Shirley, of West Paris, Jeffrey Hutchinson and his wife, Karla, of Littleton, Colo. and Sheila Ouellette and her husband, Jacob, of Fort Kent; 13 great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Jacob, Racheal, Cynthia, Daniel, Scott, Jason, Michael, Shelby Donna, Cole, Emma, Ryan and Dawn Marie; seven great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Merna Hutchinson and her husband, Fred, of Stonington; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, Gilbert “Pumpkin” Bell Jr.; her daughter, Donna Jean Hutchinson; a son-in-law, Joseph Hutchinson; and her former husband, Gilbert Bell Sr.; two special friends, Ralph Steele Jr. and Reginald Dunton. Services will be held noon Saturday, at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Main Street, Stonington. Pastor Harry Vickerson will officiate. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may call 10 a.m. Saturday until the hour of the service, at the funeral home. Burial will be afterward in the Greenwood Cemetery, Oceanville.
