WEST END, N.C. – Marion T. McCafferty, 79, of West End died Thursday Oct. 28, 2004, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, N.C. A native of East Millinocket, she was a daughter of the late Pertches and Nora Powers Thompson. Mrs. McCafferty was a Godly Christian woman and committed to her Lord and faith. During her working years she had various nursing positions. Most recently doing private duty nursing. She is survived by her daughter, Emily Peaslee of West End, N.C.; son, Harley “Skip” McCafferty of Charleston, Tenn.; sister, Ruth Gagnier of Currie, N.C.; brother, Leo Thompson of Springfield, Mass.; grandchildren, Mary, Sharon, Mark, Jonathan and Andrew; great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Kirsten, Ethan, Alex, Mikayla, Caraily and Joshua. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at United Pentecostal Church of Spring Lake, N.C. conducted by the Rev. Jeffery Chavis. Burial will follow in Cross Hill Cemetery in Carthage. Following the committal the family will return to the church to receive friends.
