NORTHPORT – Maritta “Micky” J. Elwell, 58, died April 30, 2008, surrounded by her family, at her residence. She was born May 17, 1949, in Northport, daughter of Louis and Rachel (Rollins) Bonin. She worked for many years locally at Penobscot Frozen Foods. More recently, she baked pies for the Hide-Away Diner and thoroughly enjoyed being the chef at Papa J’s. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Wayne Elwell Sr. of Northport; three children, Pam Elwell and Wayne Elwell, both of Northport, and Tina and Tony Kelley of Hancock; four brothers, Buster Bonin, Tony Bonin, Ned Bonin and Tom Bonin, all of Northport; three sisters, Stella Hoyte, Ellie Hoyte, both of Massachusetts and Jean Patten of Northport; five grandchildren, Stephen Cummings Jr., Kristy Elwell, Jade Cummings, Nikyla Kelley and Anthony Kelley Jr; one great-grandchild, Isaac Cummings; many nieces, nephews; and special friends, Jim, Echo and Kelly from Papa J’s, Harold and Carol Gurney, and David and Ethel Greenleaf. Family and friends may call 2-4 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast, where funeral services will be held 3 p.m. with the Rev. Rusty Bonin officiating.
