BREWER – Marjorie E. Decker, 99, wife of the late Donald A. Decker, died Nov. 29, 2007, at a Brewer health care center. She was born June 28, 1908, in Bucksport, the daughter of Guy R. and Evelyn (Delano) Smith. Marjorie was a 1926 graduate of Bangor High School and attended Gilman Business College. She owned and operated Decker’s Grocery Store, North Main Street, Brewer, from 1948 to 1961, while her husband operated Decker’s Garage. During the 1970s, Marjorie studied nursing at Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute and worked as a volunteer with Westgate Manor. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Brewer and the Altar Rosary Society. Marjorie enjoyed the time she spent at camp in Lucerne. Surviving are one son, Donald G. Decker of Brewer and Sylvia Fish of Eddington; a niece, Jean (Smith) Lobbregt of Saugus, Mass.; and her daughters, Karen Lobbregt of Saugus, Mass., and Kirsten Morse of Easton; cousins, Bertha (Smith) Higgins of Orono, Dick Tennant of Bucksport, Mary (Tennant) Brodeur of Brunswick; and a very caring friend, Virginia Fournier. She was predeceased by her husband in 1972; and by a brother, Raymond R. Smith. Family and friends may visit 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Brewer, with the Very Rev. Richard McLaughlin, pastor, celebrant. A reception in the church center will be immediately afterward and burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
