ROCKWOOD – Marjorie S. McBurnie, 91, passed away Oct. 7, 2007, at Cedar Ridge Rehab and Nursing Center, Skowhegan. She was born April 13, 1916, in Rockwood, the daughter of Russell and Blanche (McMullen) Spinney. She graduated from Greenville High School. She married Keith McBurnie, in 1950, and he passed away in 1984. She was the owner and operator of the Tomhegan Camps, Rockwood, for many years. She loved wild animals; she would feed many of the animals out of her hand including many deer. She enjoyed fishing, and having friends come out and visit. She is survived by her cousins, Roberta Garrish of Illinois and Adale Thorndike of Phillips; and a brother-in-law, Bill McBurnie of Windham. She was predeceased by her parents. Visitation will be held 11 a.m.-noon Thursday, Oct. 11, at Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, with a funeral service to be held noon at the funeral home. Burial will be held after at Sunnyside Cemetery, Kingfield.
