BROOKLIN – Mary A. Eaton, 87, died Feb. 11, 2008, surrounded by her loving family, at her home after a long battle with lung cancer. She was born June 10, 1920, in Brooklin, the daughter of George E. and Katherine (Roberts) Pervear. Mary worked for several years for R.K. Barter Cannery of Stonington and retired as postmaster in North Brooklin in 1992. She will always be remembered for picking blueberries, raspberries and cranberries; whatever was in season and giving them away to her friends. Some of her favorite pastimes were knitting and stamp collecting. She was a member of Pentecostal Lighthouse of Town Hill. Mary is survived by sons, Paul F. Eaton and wife, April, of Hope, and Charlie L. Eaton and wife, Nadine, of Stonington; and daughters, Catherine “Tink” Hutchinson and husband, Roger, and Carol Damon of Brooklin. She was a beloved grandmother to 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, and aunt to several nieces, nephews; and special friends, Richard and Robbie Eaton of Brooklin. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles M. Eaton; son, Milton E. Eaton; sister, Amelita Nelson; and grandson, Harrison Damon.
