SHERMAN – Mary A. Rush, 83, died Sunday, June 5, 2005, at Patten. She was born Dec. 4, 1921, in Benedicta, the daughter of John and Claire (Croe) Richard. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered as a caring and compassionate person and an excellent cook. Mary was an active member of the St. Benedicts Sodality for many years and enjoyed working on the annual parish bazaar. Mary is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Edward G. Rush, they married in Nov. 1945 and began their life together farming in Sherman. Together they raised seven children, Jane Cummings and her husband, Robert, of Sherman, Pat Rush and his wife, Nancy, of Prince Edward Island, Gregory Rush and his wife, Lisa, of Sherman, Anne Earnhardt and her husband, Tony, of Hawaii, Mary Hall and her husband, Carter, of Patten, Ellen Rush of Houlton, Christine Cunningham and her husband, Robert, of Sherman. Mary was blessed with 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson, Aaron and Nicholas Hall, Seth and Ben Rush, Mariah, Luke and Joseph Johnson, Alison and Thomas Cummings, Braden and Molly Cunningham, and Gaige Havard. She was predeceased by her parents, three brothers and one sister. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, at St. Benedicts Catholic Church, Benedicta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Benedict’s Church, with Fr. Richard Malo, celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Benedict Cemetery.
