EASTBROOK – Mary Anne Hillock, 56, wife of the late Cary G. Hillock, died Thursday, June 16, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Jan. 29, 1949, in Bridgeport, Conn., the daughter of Joseph P. and Rosemary A. (Kane) Wishneski. Mary Anne was educated in Connecticut schools, and began her college education at the University of Connecticut. She received her bachelor’s of science degree in education from the University of Maine at Machias, and later earned a master’s degree in education from the University of Maine. Mary Anne was a teacher in Franklin for one year, and spent the remainder of her teaching career at the Beech Hill School in Otis, before retiring in 2001. Recently, she had been working part time at Allies in Ellsworth, working as a job coach for the clients there. Mary Anne was an active member of the Maine Coast Baptist Church in Ellsworth, and served on the School Board for SAD No. 26 in Eastbrook. She greatly enjoyed working in her garden and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her mother, Rosemary Wishneski of Monroe, Conn.; Mary Anne is survived by two children, Susan Hillock and her husband, Dana Ryder, of Buxton, and Cary J. Hillock and his wife, Barbara, of Eastbrook; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Sarah, Tyler, Elizabeth, and Nicholas; a brother, Joseph R. Wishneski of Winchester Center, Conn.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband, Mary Anne, was predeceased by her mother in law, Beatrice Hillock. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Maine Coast Baptist Church, Bangor Road, Ellsworth, where funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Monday, June 20, with the Rev. Gerry Dill, pastor, officiating. Interment will be private. Gifts in memory of Mary Anne may be sent to the Maine Coast Baptist Church, Ellsworth, ME 04605.
