HOULTON – Mary Ellen (Gilfoyle) Megquier, 69, died March 30, 2004, at home. She was born Dec. 30, 1934, in Charlestown, Mass., the daughter of Francis and Winifred (Boyle) Gilfoyle. Mary was employed by Bell Telephone and the Town of Orient, however, her greatest job was taking care of the children of Chris and Liz Anderson; Aaron, Lucas, and Madelene; Jack and Sarah Coombs’ children, Jake and Emma. These are the grandchildren her daughters hadn’t gotten around to giving her yet. She was predeceased by her parents; and her brother, Francis. Surviving are her daughters, Deborah Megquier and Michael Kenyon of Weston, Denise Megquier of Van Buren and Diane Megquier of Presque Isle; her brothers, John “Jack” and Inge Gilfoyle of Saugus, Mass.; sister, Claire Bitely of Pensacola, Fla.; and sister-in-law, Dottie Gilfoyle of Winthrop, Mass.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be sadly missed by several dear friends, Elva, Doris, Wilda, Vicki, and Harriet. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2004 at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, with Father Eddy Morin officiating. Spring Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
