WASHBURN – Mary Frances Humphrey, daughter of the late Fred V. and Elizabeth T. (Lynch) Lynch, died June 23, 2004, at her residence. She was born May 19, 1927, in Lowell, Mass. She graduated from the University of Maine at Presque Isle. Her many employment experiences included being employed at SAD No. 45 in Washburn as Librarian for 10 years and The Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle as employment manager for ten years. Mary was very active in civic affairs, including, the Washburn Memorial Library Board and was a charter member and officer of the Salmon Brook Historical Society. She was a lover of life, also a lover of Maine and its changing seasons, music, family gatherings, researching and reading and most of all her beloved husband of 52 years, Keith. She is survived by, her husband of Washburn, her children, Sharon Humphrey-Mason and her husband, Dennis, of Guilford, Nancy Griffin and her husband, Tom, of Presque Isle, Janet L.H. Stephenson and her husband, John, of Washburn; her granddaughters, Hillary Beth and Amber Jill Griffin and Julie Elizabeth Stephenson; her sisters, Terry Mank of Falmouth, Dorothy Dunham of Cape Elizabeth and Janet Bird of South Portland, and her friends, Audrey, Camilla and Georgie; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and neighbors. She was predeceased by a sister, Ellen P. White. Please join us for a graveside memorial service to be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Crouseville Cemetery with the Rev. David Raymond officiating. There will be a time of fellowship and remembering for family and friends at the State Road Advent Christian Church following the service.
