BUCKSPORT – Mary G. (Springer) Gross, 79, died Dec. 5, 2003, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Jan. 2, 1924, in Machias, the daughter of Alan and Hazel (Giles) Springer. Mary was a member of the East Bucksport United Methodist Church and worked for many years at the Talk “N” Shop. She was an avid beano player and enjoyed her grandchildren. Mary is survived by two sons, Richard Gross and his friend, Joyce, of Sedgewick, and Keith Gross and his wife, Rose, of Orrington; one daughter, Sharon McAllian of Bucksport; 11 grandchildren, Garret, Mike, Lori, Tony, Christy, Bobbi, Tammi, Trevor, Tracy, Jennifer, and Stephen; several great-grandchildren; one niece, Judith Heath; many special beano friends. In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, Thomas W. Gross; step-father, Ralph Facteaux; sister, Pearl Bowden; brother, Edward Facteaux. A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating.
