MILBRIDGE – Mary Jane Sargent, 83, wife of the late Dana Sargent, died July 1, 2008, at a Milbridge health care facility. She was born May 26, 1925, in Columbia Falls, the daughter of Maurice and Minnie (Reed) Oliver. She was a member of Milbridge Grange, Oseola Grange of Harrington, Pamona Grange, American Legion Auxiliary of Cherryfield, and was an avid bingo player. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, crocheting, square dancing, and spending time with family, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Narda and husband, Billy Coombs; son, Dennis Sargent Sr. and wife, Norma; daughter, Jane Workman and husband, Norman; daughter, Kim Rice and husband, Ernie; eight grandchildren, Willie Coombs IV, Amy (Sargent) Therrien, Dennis Sargent Jr., Deana (Workman) Archer, Wendy (Workman) Woods, Norman Workman, Janet (Rice) Dorr and Daniel Rice Sr.; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Oliver; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one great-grandson, Brayden Therrien; several brothers and sisters. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 6, at Steuben Village Cemetery with Pastor Owen Beal officiating.
