BLUE HILL and BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. – Mary M. Martin, 78, of Bonita Springs, Fla., died at her summer home in Blue Hill, Oct. 8, 2005. She was born Nov. 18, 1926, in Kinderhook, Ill., the daughter of Jesse Calvin Milton and Maude “Lazell” Milton. Mary grew up in the Midwest and joined the Women’s Army and became a secretary at the White House. She later graduated from Philadelphia School of Horticulture. Mary founded the Greenhouse Restaurant in Radnor, Pa., which she operated for several years. Mary spent every summer in Blue Hill with her late husband, Alfred S. Martin. Mary is survived by a son, Zachary and his wife, Laurel; three grandchildren, Isabella Keuhn Martin, Emma Oneida Martin, Alfred Simpson Martin II, all of Wellesley, Mass.; her sisters, Antha Skinner of Trafalgar, Ind., Pat Anson of Greenwood, Ind., Joan Lindsey of Houston, Texas, Shirley Shultz of Washington, Mo.; and brother, Buck Lazzell of Vernal, Utah; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her beloved sisters and brother, Jesse Browning, Stella Taylor and Billy Milton. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at the Blue Hill Congregational Church with the Rev. Rob McCall officiating. Interment will be in White Marsh Memorial Park, Prospectville, Pa.
