MADAWASKA – Mary Madore, 57, passed away March 16, 2007, at a Fort Kent hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 4, 1949, in Madawaska, the daughter of Dr. Andrew N. and Edith (Walls) McQuarrie. Mary was known for her dedication to all that she undertook, and held a deep passion for her work duties, which have included positions as deputy sheriff for the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department, police officer for the town of Madawaska and as a Maine court security officer. Mary also held a great passion for her children and grandchildren, of whom she proudly spoke in her conversations with others. Mary is survived by her husband of 27 years, Jim Madore of Madawaska; two sons, Shawn Michaud and his wife, Diana, of Darmstadt, Germany, and Peter Michaud and his wife, Haley, of Norridgewock; four granchildren, Ciara Stewart, Zander Madore, Holly and Savanna Michaud; two stepsons, Scott and Christopher Madore; one brother, Andrew “Skip” McQuarrie of Frenchville; one sister, Judy McQuarrie-Southard of Brewer; several nieces and nephews. Mary’s family wishes to extend gracious appreciation to the staff of the oncology clinic for their professionalism and loving support during Mary’s treatments. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Friends and family may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. until time of services Thursday at Daigle Funeral Home. Interment will be at St. Thomas Cemetery later in the spring.
