CARIBOU – Mary E. Nadeau, 77, wife of the late Perley Nadeau died Aug. 14, 2004, at Caribou, following a long illness. She was born in Caribou Feb. 17, 1927, the daughter of James and Mamie (Good) Porter. Mrs. Nadeau was employed by the Birds Eye Div. of General Foods for several years and was then employed by the Caribou School Dept as a cook for many years. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church where she was also a member of the Catholic Golden Age. Mary enjoyed reading, working on crossword puzzles and spending time with her family. She is survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law, Donna Chapman of Caribou, Nancy Cormier of Presque Isle, Terri and Dave Jones of Portland and Beth and Dale Henderson of Caribou; one brother, Ralph Porter of Washburn; two sisters, Pauline “Polly” Bausemer of Boston, Mass., and Arlene McNeal of Brewer; six grandchildren, Randy, Rick, Ryan, Tim, Tom, and Terry, two great-grandchildren, Joshua and Tyler, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Mary will also be sadly missed by her beloved cat and constant companion, Peanuts. Mrs. Nadeau was predeceased by her husband, Perley in 1983; and a brother, James Porter Jr. in 1956. Private family services will be held at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mrs. Nadeau may do so through the American Cancer Society.
