ELLSWORTH – Mary Weiss, 85, formerly of Camp Hill, Pa., died Saturday, July 1, 2006, her wedding anniversary, at her residence. She was born Oct. 5, 1920, in Boyertown, Pa. to the late Ambrose and Ellen (Weintrout) Wolfgang. As a young girl, she was one of the first members of St. Columbkills Catholic Church in Boyertown, Pa. She was a 1938 graduate of Boyertown High School, in Pennsylvania. In 1939, she married Calvin S. Weiss and worked in the shoe factory in Boyertown, Pa. She and Cal later moved to Lititz, Pa., where she worked in the Bedford Shoe Factory and was a member of St. James Parish before moving in 1941, to Marietta, Pa., where she was a member of St. Mary’s Parish. In 1950, they moved to Elizabethtown, Pa. where she worked in the Hestico Dress Factory, was a member of St. Peter’s Parish and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 329. While in Elizabethtown, Pa., Mary began working at the former Olmstead Air Force Base in Middletown, Pa. In 1966, they moved to Camp Hill, Pa. and Mary worked for the former Ships Parts Control Center in Mechanicsburg, Pa. and retired in 1980, after 28 years of civil service. While living in Camp Hill, they were members of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland, Pa. where Mary was an active volunteer in her church community. In 2003, Mary and Cal moved to Ellsworth, to be closer to their daughter and were members of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Additionally, Mary was an avid Hershey Bears hockey fan and loved to do needlework. She is survived by her husband, Calvin S. Weiss; and a daughter, Lorraine Mooers, both of Ellsworth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2 p.m. Monday, July 10, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1300 Bridge St., New Cumberland, PA. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Upper Allen Township, Pa. Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 p.m. Monday at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland, Pa.
