OLD TOWN – Mary-Louise McKenney, 82 passed away Jan. 24, 2006, at her residence. She was born Jan. 4, 1924, in Brockton, Mass., the daughter of Charles and Olga (Chapman) Merritt. Mary-Louise was raised in Addison where they had moved when she was still a baby. She graduated from Addison High School in 1941 and she attended Farmington Normal School. On Sept. 27, 1942, she married Robert L. McKenney. Robert joined the Maine State Police in Jan. 1947 and they resided in Pittsfield, Ellsworth, Bath, South Portland and Thomaston before moving to Old Town in March 1969. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Mary-Louise was an excellent seamstress and braided many beautiful rugs. She enjoyed boating, camping and many trips to Florida in their camper. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert McKenney of Old Town; a daughter, Constance Donovan and her husband, Timothy, of Lucerne; a grandson, Brendan Donovan; a sister, Patricia Kane of Latham, N.Y.; a cousin, Margaret Robinson of Calais; a nephew, Theodore Kane; and a niece, Beverly Rogers. She was predeceased by her parents. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town where a funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Ron Chaffee, officiating. Spring interment will be in the family plot in Columbia.
