MATTHEW DAVID CORSON BREWER – Matthew David Corson, 39, died unexpectedly Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, in Winder, Ga. He was born Nov. 1, 1968, in Pittsfield, the son of Eudell and Carol Ann (Soucier) Corson. He was educated in Canaan schools and a graduate of Skowhegan High School, Class of 1987. Matthew owned and operated Corson’s Transportation, Skowhegan, for more than 10 years. On June 10, 2008, he married Melissa Skidgell at North Country Harley-Davidson, Augusta. He was a member of Carrabassett Masonic Lodge No. 161 AF & AM of Canaan. He loved to ride his Harley and drive his Peterbilt truck. Matthew had many truck driving friends throughout the years and a lot of them were like family. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Corson of Brewer; his parents, Eudell and Carol Ann Corson of Skowhegan; maternal grandmother, Charlene Soucier of Skowhegan; sons, Justin M. Corson of Skowhegan and Joshua M. Corson and his fianc?e, Erica Small, of Canaan; granddaughter, Rae Ann-Marie Corson of Canaan; a brother, Mark E. Corson and his wife, Wendy, of Skowhegan; three nephews, Brandon, Trevor and Hunter, all of Skowhegan; a sister, Sharon R. Burrill and her husband, Paul, of Canaan; a niece, Heather Goodridge and her husband, John; a great-niece, Kaylyn, all of Canaan; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Cynthia Skidgell of Holden; grandmother-in-law, Virginia Tillinghast of Bangor; and best friends, Neal Pitcher, Dan Prescott and Myles Spraggins. Matthew was predeceased by grandparents, Kenneth R. Soucier, Aubrey and Lillian Corson. Visitation hours will be held 4-5 p.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church, Skowhegan, with funeral and Masonic services starting 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, with the Rev. Ned Crockett officiating.
