BANGOR and BREWER Matthew John Patrick (Phillips) Pasquerillo, 35, the beloved and treasured son of Peter and Pat Phillips and adored father of Elias Pasquerillo, died unexpectedly May 12, 2004, surrounded by his family. He was born on a Sunday, a gift from God, March 9, 1969, in Bangor. Matthew was a member of Gold’s Gym in Bangor. His passions were computers, law enforcement, angels, nature, the ocean, a wide spectrum of music, and especially his son and family. He was the former Mr. Teen Maine and won many trophies for bodybuilding. He will be greatly missed and remembered by the people whose lives he touched including family and friends. In addition to his parents and his son he is survived by his loving sister, Sarah Phillips and her boyfriend, Tony Caruso, of Bangor; his girlfriend, Meredith Toole and her son, Brian Duncan, of Brewer; maternal grandmother, “Gree” Helga Walsh of Kenduskeag; paternal grandfather, Russell Phillips of Florida; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, “Grampie” James Walsh; paternal grandmother, Jean Phillips. The family would like to thank the staff at Eastern Maine Medical Center and Penobscot Community Health-care for all their compassion and care provided to Matthew over the years. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2004, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, at St. John’s Catholic Church, 207 York St., Bangor with the Very Rev. Richard McLaughlin pastor, celebrant. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments following the services Saturday at the Parish Hall at St. John’s Catholic Church, 207 York St., Bangor.
