CORINNA and MOUNT IDA, ARK. – Maxine Eaton Wheeler, 64, passed away Oct. 29, 2005, at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith, Ark., surrounded by her family. She was born Oct. 20, 1941, in Dexter, to the late Crosby and Lilla Bragg Eaton. She enjoyed traveling to Maine, cake decorating, oil painting and crafting with her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband of 41 years, J.L. Wheeler; daughters and son-in-laws, Wendi and Johnny Gwinn of Arkansas, Brenda and Gary Crane of Exeter and Bonnie Martin of Bangor; son, Jason Wheeler of Arkansas; brother, Kenneth Eaton of Florida; and sister, Loraine and Carl Palmer of Exeter; grandchildren, Ashley, Lauren, Jenna, Kayla, Tracy, Corban and Bradley. A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Nov. 12, with a luncheon to follow at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Exeter.
