WASHBURN – Melba M. Learnard, 88, died Wednesday Jan. 25, 2006, at a Mars Hill healthcare facility. She was born Sept. 1, 1917, in Masardis, the daughter of Herbert and Effie (Robinson) Campbell. She worked for a number of years at Potato Service in Presque Isle. She attended the First Baptist Church of Washburn and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Flagon and Trenchers Society and the Salmon Brook Historical Society. Melba is survived by a son, Harold Learnard of Leavittown, Pa.; two brothers, Holman Campbell of Framingham, Mass. and Clair Moreau of Portage Lake; two sisters, Glenna Louridas of Ashland and Audrey Bird of Essex, Conn.; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Clade Learnard; and a son, Robert Clade Learnard. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Relatives and friends may call 7-9 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home. Spring interment will be at Riverside Extension Cemetery, Washburn.
