Columbia_- Melvin D. Pendleton, 64, died Monday, April 5, 2004, at his home in Columbia, with his family at his side. He was born May 7, 1939, in Biddeford, the son of Ernest H. and Barbara A. (Hutcherson) Pendleton. Melvin graduated from Thornton Academy in Biddeford. He served in the U.S. Army for three years. Melvin was a member of Felicity Lodge No. 19 A.F. & A.M. in Bucksport. He was an electrician for many years, and recently retired as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Union_No. 1253 in Augusta. Melvin is survived by his significant other, Anne Leighton of Columbia; three daughters, Jennifer “Jenna” Pendleton of Columbia, Jody Graham and her husband, Joe, of Newark, Del., and Penny Armstrong_of Townsend, Del.; a son, Matthew Pendleton of Columbia; his special “Bud”, Shannon Leighton of Columbia; a stepdaughter, Bobbi Jo Leighton of Naples, Fla.; two sisters, Pamela Beal and her husband, Donald, of Saco, and Candy Morin of Biddeford; an uncle, Kenny Pendleton and his wife, Jeanette, of Camp Ellis; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 8, at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Milbridge.
