CORINTH – Merle “Muscles” Worster passed away Aug. 1, 2008, surrounded by family, at a Bangor hospital. He was born March 16, 1936, in Prentiss, the son of Archibald and Lena (Worster) Worster. He spent his early years on Thompson’s farm in Prentiss, and later working for Toziers, Kenduskeag. After that he spent the next several years as a backhoe/equipment operator; first for Wiggin Brothers, next for Pomeroy’s Well Drilling; and then for Bud Grant, after which he became disabled while working for the state of Maine. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Viola “Peaches”; daughters, Margaret and George Seavey, and Gayle and Clyde Richards; his grandchildren, whom he spoiled with great enthusiasm, Stephanie, Horace and Tay Tay; Jaslyn, Jay, Cameron, Jade and Seth; Danyall, David, Dylan, Nateman, Lukey and ToTo; Amanda, Nick, Isaac and Christian; George and Ley Ley; his siblings, Vernon and Louise, Beulah, Don and Shirley, Guy and Marge, Katherine and Ivan, Norma and Sterling, Wayne and Betty, and Marie and Eldon; sister-in-law, Dorilda; many nieces, nephews and cousins, Ted Caruso, and close friend, Shawn Munson. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by great-grandsons, Robbie and Nicky; and siblings, Dick, Clair, Clayton, Lloyd, Bernice, Mayland and Dale. The family extends grateful thanks to the fifth floor nurses at St. Joseph Hospital for the excellent care given to Merle. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Smith officiating. Interment will be at Butterfield Cemetery, Prentiss.
