ATHOL, Mass. – Michael G. Bridgwood, 42, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, surrounded by his loving family, after fighting a courageous yearlong battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. He was born Oct. 5, 1965, in Hyannis, Mass. He grew up in Edmunds Township and graduated in 1983 from Washington Academy, East Machias. Mike was co-owner and principal broker of Prudential Prime Properties in town. He was an active member of North Quabbin Bible Church and his faith was evident to all who knew him. The greatest joys in his life were his wife and children, and he cherished the time he spent with them, making it a priority to be at all of his kids sporting events. Mike’s generosity and kind heart were an inspiration to all. He lived his life with integrity and bravery. He touched the lives of so many, especially the young people in the area and his memory will live on in their hearts forever. Those he loved the most were faithfully at his side to the end, wife, Barbara, who lovingly cared for him during his illness; mother, Arline Bridgwood of Edmunds Township; and six children, Nick, Ashley, Cassie, Chris and Cody Bridgwood and Michael Morandi, all of Athol, Mass. He also leaves two sisters, Terry Bridgwood and daughters, Allie and Kirsten of Newburyport, Mass., and Karen Quattrochi and husband, Paul, and son, Nathan of Marlborough, Mass.; two brothers, Ron and wife, Cheryl, of Lamoine, and John and wife, Krista, of Hickory, N.C.; sisters-in-law, Charlene Allen and husband, Mike, and Dianne Piermattei and husband, Mike; mother-in-law, Bernie Chaisson; several nieces, nephews and many friends. He was especially blessed by two of his nephews, Ryan Rathburn and Drew Chaisson, who were at his side during the last several weeks. Mike is now in the presence of the Lord with his son, Jason Trombley, who died in 2003. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at Athol Congregational Church, 1225 Chestnut St., Athol, Mass. Burial will be held after at Gethsemane Cemetery. Calling hours will be held 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, at Fiske Funeral Home, 1356 Main St., Athol, Mass.
