ENFIELD, Conn. – Michael Lee “Mike” Bachand, of Taylor Road, died May 30, 2007, in Kalamazoo, Mich., from injuries in a motor vehicle accident. He was born March 25, 1949, in Brockton, Mass., son of the late Leonidas “Leo” and Marie Sadie (Surrette) Bachand. After graduating Scheneck High School, East Millinocket, Mike served his country during the Vietnam War, stationed in Germany for three years. He enjoyed traveling and held many jobs around the country, corrections officer, Modesto, Calif.; police officer, Stockton, Calif.; electrician on oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico, Southern Louisiana to the country of Lebanon; sold insurance in Louisiana and for the past 10 years he transferred vehicles for Apollo Transfer, Temple, Ariz. When not traveling, he spent time with his sister, Karan Silverstein in Enfield, Conn. He also leaves a sister, Lorraine Smith and her husband, Bruce, of Chatham, Mass., formerly of Whitman, Mass.; two nieces, four nephews, six great-nieces and a great-nephew. In addition his parents, he was predeceased by a great-nephew. He will be eulogized at his 40th high school class reunion in July in East Millinocket.
