NEWPORT and LAS VEGAS Michael Steven Gibbs, 33, died unexpectedly Sept. 1, 2006, as a result of a traffic accident in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 26, 1973, in Lewiston, son of Michael D. Gibbs of South Carolina and Alice (Stevens) Gibbs of Dexter. Michael graduated from Nokomis Regional High School, Class of 1991. Most recently he lived and worked in Las Vegas. Michael will be remembered for his big heart, easy smile, carefree nature and his love for friends and family, especially his aunts. Michael was predeceased by his sister, Melissa Ann Gibbs; and his maternal grand-parents. He is survived by his mother, father; sister, Rebecca Gibbs of Ohio; paternal grandparents, Dale and Doris Gibbs of Missouri; and a large circle of extended family and friends. A celebration of his life will be held 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., Dexter, with Pastor Robert DeLion officiating. Friends may call 4 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. A private family interment will be held in Bowdoinham at a later date.
