HOWLAND – Millard F. Ireland, 82, formerly of Chester died Aug. 14, 2005, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born Feb. 25, 1923, in Chester, the son of Forest and Edith Ireland. Millard was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. Millard was also an avid Boston Red Sox fan. He is survived by two daughters, Sherry Drost and her husband, Rodney, and Linda Walls and her husband, Gordon, all of Chester; six grandchildren, Millard “Mickey” Bouchard, Becky Fleming, Melanie Drost, Lisa McNichols, Jimmy Stanley Jr. and Brian Drost; two sisters, Florence Jordan of Chester, and Bina Hale of Fairfield; several great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; his oldest and dearest friends, Myrtle and Omar Reed; his loving and devoted companion, Evelyn Dunn. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Lula (Thompson) Ireland; a sister, Priscilla Dobson; and a brother, Rodney Ireland.
