MILLINOCKET – Milton I. “Tim” Murray, 83, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2007, at Millinocket Regional Hospital. He was born Jan. 10, 1924, in Sheridan, the son of Simon F. and Essie M. (Page) Murray. Tim worked at Great Northern Paper Co., Millinocket, for 20 years, leaving to own and operate Murray’s Restaurant, Millinocket, and was later a part owner with Edmond Cyr of Black Cat Mountain Lodge at Millinocket Lake. Tim also worked for several years and retired from the Millinocket school department. He was a member of B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 1521, Millinocket; a Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, Millinocket; and enjoyed spending time at the “Retirees.” Tim also drew much pleasure from selling memorial flowers on Peddlers Hill for several years, house painting and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Hilda A. (Boutaugh) Murray of Millinocket; two children, Priscilla Leet and her husband, Bob, of Millinocket and Bob Murray and his significant other, Sue Leet; two grandchildren, Steven Leet and his fianc?e, Sue, and Lisa Murray and her fianc?, Skip; five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Josh, Brandon, Mikala and Chippy; a special cousin, Rowena Duprey of Presque Isle; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Tim was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, Carlton Murray and Curtis Murray. At Tim’s request, there will be no viewing. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 112 Maine Ave., Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider. Interment will be after at Millinocket Cemetery. Gifts in memory of Tim may be sent to the Katahdin Area Support Group, 10 Field St., Millinocket, ME 04462.
