BAR HARBOR – Miriam K. Overpeck, 97, wife of the late Harvey M. Overpeck, died Sept. 6, 2006, at an Ellsworth health care facility. She was born Nov. 21, 1908, in Quakertown, Pa., the daughter of Joseph S. and Catherine Schantz. Miriam owned and operated the Sunset Pines Motel, now called Bay Ledge Motel, until her retirement in 1983. She was a member of the Holy Redeemer Church, Bar Harbor, where she served as one of the Eucharistic ministers. She was also chairman of the Senior Members’ Four Seasons Club of the Holy Redeemer Church. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. William Kathryn Hock of Skippers, Va.; two grandchildren, Amy Brewer of Newtown, Pa., and William H. Hock of Hardwick, N.J.; and a very special friend, Gregory E. Gray of Orland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Bar Harbor. Burial will be in Carversville Cemetery, Carversville, Pa.
