MILLINOCKET – Mona Ann James, 79, wife of the late Julian J. James, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2008. She was born May 9, 1928, in Millinocket, the daughter of Edward and Annie (McQuarrie) Raymond. Mona was a member of Donald V. Henry Post No. 80 of the American Legion and the Daughters of Isabella, Little Flower Circle. She is survived by five children, Ann Marie Burtchell and her husband, Roger, of Fort Fairfield, Charles “Chuck” James and his wife, Rosemary, of Millinocket, Katherine “Kitty” Higgins and her husband, Ralph, of East Millinocket, Paul James and his wife, Lisa, of Columbia, S.C., and Peter James and his wife, April, of Syracuse, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren, Paul, Scott, Amy and her husband, Chris, Steve and his fianc?e, Kristie, Katie, Kristy, Jesse, Zachary, Phillip, Aman-da and Rachael; one great-grandson, Ethan; siblings, Delia Cummings, Edward Raymond and Ben Raymond and his wife, Bertha, all of Millinocket; a sister-in-law, Jean Santos and her husband, Victor, of Lowell, Mass.; and an aunt, Delia Hamilton of East Millinocket; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Mona was predeceased by a sister, Helen Duprey; a sister-in-law and close friend, Jackie Raymond; and her best friend, Blanch Surrette. Mona will also be missed by her friends and caregivers at Sweet Seniors Guest House, East Millinocket. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where a Rosary service will be held 7:30 p.m. conducted by the officers and members of the Daughters of Isabella, Little Flower Circle. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 112 Maine Ave., Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider. Spring interment will be at Millinocket Cemetery.
