MADAWASKA – Muriel Raymond, 62, died unexpectedly in Brunswick, while en route to the Maine Medical Center in Portland. She was born July 14, 1941, in Edmundston, New Brunswick, the daughter of Fortunat and Yvette (Nadeau) Lajoie. In addition to her mother of Edmundston, she is survived by her husband, Gerald (Gerry) Raymond of Madawaska; two daughters, Lisa Raymond (Lafleche) and her husband, Emile, of St. Eustache, P.Q., Canada, Lynn Day of Scarborough; and one son, Blair Raymond of Edmundston, New Brunswick; three sisters, Gisele Lajoie of Belleville, Ontario, Canada, Micheline Lajoie of Dieppe, New Brunswick, and Jovette Lajoie of Quebec, P.Q.; two brothers, Ronald Lajoie and his wife, Nicole, of Montreal, P.Q., and Clarence Lajoie and his wife, Claudette, of Stevensville, Ontario; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was the niece of Father Laurent Nadeau of Edmundston. She was predeceased by one son, Gerald Raymond Jr., in 1961. Funeral services will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Friends and relatives may call at the Daigle Funeral Home 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until time of services on Monday. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. Contributions may be made in her memory to the St. Thomas Aquinas Parish Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
