CARIBOU – Murla B. Patterson, 85, wife of the late Basil Patterson, died March 8, 2008, in Caribou. She was born March 7, 1923, in New Sweden, the daughter of Coral and Grace Skidgel. She was a member of First Baptist Church of New Sweden. Murla was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family and a friend to all she met. She is survived by two sons, William Patterson and his wife, Nancy, of Haines City, Fla., and Jamey Patterson of Davenport, Fla.; three daughters, Judy Forsman of Caribou, Loretta Patterson and Bonnie Stevens and her husband, Michael, all of Davenport, Fla.; one sister, Sally McLaughlin of Presque Isle; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers and six sisters. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, at First Baptist Church of New Sweden, with the Rev. David Moore, pastor, officiating. Spring interment will take place at Riverside Extension Cemetery, Washburn. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Murla, may do so through First Baptist Church of New Sweden memorial fund.
