JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Myles “Mike” E. Thompson, 66, passed away Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, after a long battle with cancer. He was born April 24, 1939, in Medway, the son of the late Melvin Thompson and Sarah (Powers) Thompson. Mr. Thompson was of Pentecostal faith and loved his collection of southern and bluegrass gospel music. He is survived by a daughter, Valerie Berube, Plymouth; two grandchildren and one great grandson. He is also survived by seven sisters and seven brothers and their families, Martha Corbett, Geneva Michaud, Dorothy and Lewis Doane, Robena and Hugh Dugans, Joann and Vernon Hunt, all of Maine, Evelyn and Donald Wright, Foxboro, Mass., Gloria and Roger Anderson, Mineral Pt., Mo., a sister-in-law, Georgia Thompson, Seattle, Wash., Carl and Lurene, Harold and Pat, Arnold and Donna, of Maine, Virgil and Amanda, Hackensack, N.J., Basil and Ruth, Tampa, Fla., Alton and Sharon, Osceola, Ind., Joseph and Deborah, Glen Carbon, lll. and a very special devoted friend, Don Saunders, Jacksonville, Fla. He was preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Thompson, Jr., Seattle, Wash. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, in the Chapel of Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, Fla. with the Rev. Alton Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services.
