OLD TOWN – Myrtle E. Hamel, 74, passed away peacefully Sept. 27, 2004, after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her daughter, Patty Deschesne and her husband, Gary, of Milford; her son, Michael and his wife, Vicki, of Cheyenne, Wyo. Myrtle is also survived by six grandchildren, Lawna, and Kim Kilber, Amanda and Patrick Knight, Jeannine and Marc Shorette, Shelly and her boyfriend, Richard, Lisa and Butch King, and Nellie and Stan Lagasse. Her most prized possessions were her great-grandchildren, Cynthia, Heidi, Lucas, Aiyana, Drew, Brittany, Austin, Lilly and Abigail. She always had a smile and a cookie for them right up until her last moments of life. Please join the family in a celebration of her life 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at Patty’s house, Lot No. 12, Leisure Park on the Call Road in Milford. Myrtle always had a love for cats, so please, in lieu of flowers, send contributions to the Bangor Humane Society.
