MILLINOCKET – Nadine J. Pheeney, 79, died Sunday, July 27, 2008, at a Millinocket hospital, after a period of declining health. She was born July 8, 1929, in Millinocket, a daughter of James and Katherine (Barnett) Brooker. Nadine enjoyed socializing with her husband, John, especially when they would eat out at restaurants throughout Maine. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, who will miss the delicious items she would cook for them. Nadine had a rhubarb patch, which she often used in her cooking. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, John Pheeney of Millinocket; three children, William “Bill” Tapley and his wife, Mary Ellen, Patricia Boyington and her husband, Dale, all of Millinocket and Peggy L. Tapley and her friend, Robyn O’Packi, of Vassalboro; four grandchildren, Melissa Moscone, Michael Day, Heather Norton and William “B.J.” Tapley; three great-grandchildren, Deanna and Bradley Moscone and Zoey Day; a sister-in-law, Kitty St. John and her husband, Tom, of Millinocket; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Nadine will also be missed by several close, lifelong friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Harold Brooker and Arnold Brooker. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at Millinocket Cemetery with Pastor Dave Chicoine officiating.
