ATKINSON and EAST MILLINOCKET – Nadine M. (Grant) McCluskey, 61, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, at a Bangor hospital after a long illness. She was born March 7, 1944, in Columbia Falls to Maynard W. and Lena (Merritt) Grant. Nadine graduated from Portsmouth High School, Portsmouth, N.H., Class of 1962. She worked in all their family owned businesses, the last being Green Acres in Sebec. She enjoyed her vegetable and flower gardens, crocheting, knitting and decorating her home with excellent taste. Most of all she enjoyed being at camp every summer with her children. Nadine is survived by two children, Stephanie Curtis and her husband, Scott, of Dover-Foxcroft and Joseph “Joey” McCluskey and his wife, Mary Louise “Ise”, of Enkirch, Germany; two granddaughters, Andrea Curtis of Bangor and Kacie Curtis of Dover-Foxcroft; a grandson, Joshua McCluskey of Enkirch, Germany. Nadine is also survived by one brother, Vergil Grant and his companion, Virginia Penniman, of Dorchester, N.H.; two sisters, Dee Austin and husband, Ron, of New Gloucester; her beloved sister, Helena “Winkie” Bartlett and husband, Sonny, of East Millinocket; stepbrother, Dick Calligan and his wife, Linda, of Morrill; also a dearly loved niece, Cheryl Worcester and her husband, Tom, of Columbia Falls; two very special nephews, Tim Whynot and wife, Kristen, and their daughters, Kara and Gillian of Bangor, her nephew, Dan Worcester and his wife, Eilean, of Acton. She also leaves one aunt, Edna Atherton of Blue Hill and many cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Pat; two sisters, Susie Emerson, Arlene Knight; and a niece, Susan Whynot. She leaves a very good friend, Cy Blodgett of Atkinson, his children, Missy, Billy, Ricky; and we can’t forget her handsome kitty, Milo. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005, at Tri Town Baptist Church, East Millinocket. Pastor David Chicoine will officiate. Arrangements are under the care of R. L. Bouchard Funeral Home and Cremation Service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tri-Town Christian Academy, Medway, ME 04460 or to a charity of one’s choice.
