BAR HARBOR – Nana Shelly Alley, 60, died May 13, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Dec. 10, 1946, in Chambersburg, Pa., the daughter of the late Doris Hepfer. Nana loved being on the water, fishing, riding motorcycles and touring the countryside. She enjoyed going to yard sales, her time in Florida and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her beloved husband of 20 years, Robert A. Alley of Bar Harbor; son, Charles Thomas of Alexandria, Va.; daughter, Cheryl Thomas of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; stepson, Andrew Robert Alley of Ocala, Fla.; step-daughter, Amber Kay Alley of Providence, R.I.; four grandchildren, Katherine and Christopher Varn and Megan and Cameron Alley; a brother-in-law, Johnny Alley; and a sister-in-law, Ellen Savage. Nana was predeceased by a brother, James Merle Shelly; and a sister, Sandra Jean Shelly. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at Forest Hill Cemetery, Northeast Harbor, with the Rev. William Bigelow officiating.
