LINCOLN – Natalie (Kneeland) Lindsay, 98, died Nov 6, 2004, at an Orono healthcare facility. Natalie was born Aug. 22, 1906, in Lincoln, the daughter of William and Bertha (Staples) Kneeland. After graduating from Mattanawcook Academy’s Class of 1925, she attended Beal Business College. Nat was then employed in the office of Lincoln Fine Paper for many years. In later years she was assistant librarian in the Lincoln Public Library. She always enjoyed her work. Nat married the late Verne Lindsay in Lincoln, where they lived on High Street the rest of their lives. Their only child, Gareth Lindsay predeceased her in 1986. Natalie and Verne enjoyed the out of doors, hunting and fishing, and their cottage on Cold Stream Pond. She was an avid Bridge player, meeting with her friends once a week. Natalie is survived by her daughter-in-law, Diana (Lake-man) Lindsay; two grandchildren, Karen Lindsay of Orlando, Fla. and Dan Lindsay and Sandy of Bangor; two great-grandchildren, Karen’s son, Rene?, and Dan and Sandy’s daughter, Makayla; a brother, Harold Kneeland; a nephew, Steve Kneeland; and four nieces who have lovingly cared for her, Natalie Adath Stormann of Milford, Gloria Salisbury of Veazie, Nadia Rand Shirley of Old Town and Betty Comstock of Orono. Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Monday, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Darrell Joiner officiating.
