WEST GARDINER – Neal A. Cartonio Jr., 57, of Old Lewiston Road, died Saturday June 19, 2004, at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick. He was born July 27, 1946, in Portland, the son of Neal A. and Marjorie Young Cartonio Sr. On Aug. 17, 1963, he married Genesta Cummings. For 34 years Mr. Cartonio worked as a manger for New England Telephone. Mr. Cartonio was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Surviving in addition to his wife of West Gardiner, is a daughter, Wendy C. Elwell and her husband, Robert, of Lisbon Falls; a son, Wilmer R. Cartonio and his wife, Son-hui, of Alaska; a sister, Theresa Thurlow of Burlington; three brothers, Raymond Ellsworth of Sabattus, Robert Ellsworth of Georgia, and Ralph Cartonio of Gorham; and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Dolly Deering. A gathering of family and friends will be held 4-8 p.m. Saturday, June 26, at Wendy Elwell’s home in Lisbon Falls.
